grows from a tiny seed,
so too children, with the proper
nourishment and environment,
can grow to become the extraordinary people
God has designed them to be.
The SEEDS Applied Learning Academy is a unique educational program for homeschoolers designed to provide exciting, energetic, engaging, and enriching learning opportunities and encourage students to apply their knowledge in meaningful ways.
For the 2005-2006 school year we plan to offer support and a limited schedule of enrichment activities and classes for homeschoolers. These activities are intended to be an enhancement to the educational program provided by parents at home. Most classes meet at The Woodlands Community Church.
Our future plans may include a unique part-time school model similar to Austin Home Base.
Another possibility may be a University-Model School program. The "university model" is a proven college preparatory model that emphasises a teaching partnership between the home and the school..
Students at SEEDS Academy are not confined to "grade levels" based on chronological age. Rather, class groupings are determined by student interest and aptitude. Class placement decisions are made as a team involving parents, instructors and the student.
SEEDS Academy operates with the philosophy that everyone has something to contribute to the learning community. We welcome the input and expertise of our parents and extended families in the educational process. By using parent "experts" in different ways throughout the year, we are able to provide a wide variety of educational and life experiences for our students. Students are energized by the excitement of working with mentors who are experts in their field or who have a deep interest in a particular area of study.
A selection of core subjects, electives and non-traditional courses will eventually be available for students to allow them to spread their branches and their roots as they discover their unique areas of interests and giftedness. Service projects, social activities, clubs, team activities and competitions will enhance character development and provide opportunities for students to interact and build lasting friendships.

We had a great time helping many homeschooling families, but for a variety of reasons we have moved on to new ventures.
SEEDS Academy is one outgrowth of The Home School House.
